Immigration and the Lived Experience of our Neighbors
Saturday, April 25
10am-Noon
Harmony United Methodist Church
Who is my neighbor? We live amongst people of different nationalities but due to language and cultural barriers, we hardly know how others do life in this area as an immigrant. Why does one choose to migrate, how do current policies affect living in the United States, what concerns and pressures do they feel and how do they persist, and also how can we be better neighbors?
This will be an informational session on immigration led by Sara Ruiz of the Ashrei Foundation, which manages the STL Rapid Response Hotline in St. Louis along with personal stories from community members experiencing immigration in the United States followed by a Q&A session.
